A proposal presented in Veneto, a region in northeastern Italy, aims to create a cultural citizenship path called “Venetian Law“. The initiative, led by Giuseppe Pan, regional advisor of the League, seeks to rescue and value local identity, promoting the integration of new generations into the rich culture of the region.
Pan explained that the project, already presented to the Regional Council, offers a “form of cultural citizenship” open to all who wish to “be part of our community”.
A pioneering model
If approved, the Veneto could become the first Italian region to implement a project like Ius Veneti. Pan is confident that the Regional Council will recognize the relevance of the initiative, which, according to him, has the potential to become an example throughout the country.
The project includes offering classes on the history of the Serenissima Republic (Republic of Venice), the Venetian language, local symbols and the region's renowned wine and food culture.
These activities would be conducted by schools, universities, associations and cultural entities.
Integration and identity
Giuseppe Pan stressed that the main objective is to invest in the future, helping young people to “discover and preserve the heritage of Veneto”. He stressed that “defending our roots means strengthening our community and creating a more cohesive, aware and proud society”.
The proposal highlights the importance of belonging to a community with a rich and diverse history, promoting the integration of new generations with respect for local cultural identity.
