The Consul General of Italy in São Paulo, Domenico Fornara, presented the award “Cavaliere dell'Ordine dela Stella d'Italia” (“Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy, in free translation) to the presenter last Monday (15). Ana Maria Braga.
According to Fornara, the Brazilian presenter was chosen by the president of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, throughout her career, in which she worked for many years as a journalist and writer and “did exceptional work in terms of dissemination, information, the promotion of Italian culture, the promotion of her roots and descendants of Italy”.
“Ana was tireless in promoting culture and her roots”, wrote the consul on the social network X (formerly Twitter), revealing that Braga “was also chosen as ambassador for the 'Turismo das Raízes' project”.
The Order of the Star is one of Italy's most important honors and aims to honor contributions to international relations of friendship and cooperation.
In a post on social media, Braga highlighted that “it is a source of pride to be honored” for her origins and released a video in which she received the award.
“There are days that are very special. Today I was flattered by this award given by consulate Italian by the hands of consul Domenico Fornara”, she celebrated, saying she was honored by her father’s descendants. (HANDLE)
