Italian universities open scholarships for foreigners

Among the partner institutions are Ca' Foscari University, in Venice

Consortium offers distance language and culture courses

The ICoN (Italian Culture on the Net) consortium has launched a notice offering 20 partial scholarships for the first semester of a three-year, online degree in Italian language and culture.

ICoN brings together several universities in Italy and promotes the teaching of the country's language through distance learning courses, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among the partner institutions are Ca' Foscari University (Venice), the University of Bologna, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the University of Turin, and the University for Foreigners of Siena.

The notice provides for 10 scholarships for self-study and 10 for classes with a tutor, which will reduce the registration fee in the first semester from 600 to 300 euros and from 900 to 450 euros, respectively. Registration closes until March 5th.

Furthermore, the University of Insubria, located in Lombardy, has opened places for 10 scholarships of 10 euros for international students interested in any of the three-year degree or “master's” degree courses.

Classes are taught in English or Italian, and candidates have until noon (Italian time) on April 12 to register on the university portal.
