La Sapienza University of Rome, in Italy, secured first place on the world podium in classical studies and ancient history for the fifth consecutive year.
This is what the 2025 edition of the international QS World University Rankings report published this Wednesday (12) brings, which scored the institution with a score of 99,1 in the subject.
In addition to the Roman university, the 2025 edition of the international publication named two other Italian institutions among the best: the Polytechnic of Milan, for arts, design and architecture, and Bocconi, also in the Lombard capital, for marketing, economics and management.
The ranking places Italy in seventh place worldwide among countries with the best universities, with 56 institutions out of a total of 632.
“Italy is a significant contributor to academic and research progress, and the ranking highlights its competitiveness at regional and global levels. Furthermore, the country continues to demonstrate academic excellence in a number of areas, with some top universities enjoying global recognition,” said Ben Sowter, Senior Vice President at QS.
