The biggest health and hospital crisis in Brazil's history was the subject of an extensive report in Sky TG24, this Wednesday (7).

Italy's main news channel invited Italian-Brazilian journalist Diego Mezzogiorno to talk about the serious crisis in Brazil due to the new coronavirus.

He went live from Florianópolis, to answer the questions asked by Michele Cagiano, news anchor.

In addition to the health and hospital crisis in Brazil, the report – which lasted around 7 minutes in prime time – talked about the elections in 2022, with the possibility of a direct dispute between Bolsonaro and Lula, who returns to the political game.

Earlier the broadcaster had already made another report where it showed that Brazil had registered a record number of Covid deaths the previous day (4.195), but that Bolsonaro remained against the blockade.
Crisis in Italy
Italy recorded another 627 deaths from Covid-19 this Wednesday (7), the highest number for a single day since January 5, when 649 deaths had been recorded, according to the Ministry of Health.
It is also the first time since January 19 that the country has recorded more than 600 victims in a 24-hour period. As a result, Italy now has 112.374 deaths in the new coronavirus pandemic, behind only the USA, Brazil, Mexico, India and the United Kingdom in absolute terms.
On the other hand, the number of new cases had a significant drop this Wednesday, with 13.708, around 10 thousand less than the figure recorded on the same day last week. Thus, the seven-day moving average of infections fell to 16.717, the lowest value since February 28 (16.585).
Italy now has 3.700.393 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, 3.040.182 cured patients and 547.837 active cases. Around 8 million people have already been vaccinated (13,5% of the national population), with 3,6 million taking both doses (6% of the population). (With information from Ansa)
