Trio will present the great soundtracks created by Morricone for world cinema
The Italian trio The Flight will perform a free show in honor of the maestro Ennio Morricone, who passed away in July this year, in partnership with the City of Roma.
The presentation is scheduled for June 5, 2021 and will be held in Piazza Pio XII, in the Italian capital, in front of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.

The news was announced in a live broadcast with the group's members, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, and the mayor of the Italian capital, Virginia Raggi.
According to the musicians, the announcement eight months in advance “wants to give a message of optimism to be able to live life normally again” and also “to draw attention to workers in the entertainment world”.
“We need to think about the future, what will happen after [the Covid-19 pandemic]. And targeting major events, culture, the possibilities and capacity of this city, together with artists of international caliber, will attract investment, work and other artists.

Tribute to Ennio Morricone
According to the announcement, the “Il Volo tribute to Ennio Morricone” wants to take a “journey into the art of one of the great composers of the 1900s”.
Therefore, the Italian trio, accompanied by an orchestra, will present the great soundtracks created by Morricone for world cinema, and also some songs with a more pop style, a trademark of the group of tenors.
The selection of songs and compositions has the support of the Italian maestro's family and the event will be broadcast on Italian television. Furthermore, Il Volo asks all those who worked with Morricone over the years to “join them and take the stage” for the tribute.
The young Italian artists also revealed that the name of the event will be the title of the trio's next album, which should be released close to the date of the show in Roma.
The musicians said that they intend to join other artists in the country, such as Fedez and Ermal Meta, to hold a fundraising campaign at the show for workers in the entertainment sector, severely affected by the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic. . The two Italians have already been running several campaigns to help the sector.

Morricone died on July 6th of this year, at the age of 91, and has a unique and admired trajectory worldwide in music.
Winner of two Oscar awards, for lifetime achievement in 2007 and for the soundtrack to “The Hateful Eight”, in 2016, the Italian has had numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career.
