Political polarization has reached one of the most popular foods among Italian-Brazilians: the cheese.
A Tyrolean, a famous dairy brand, entered the eye of the storm after it was revealed that its owners, Carlos and Cícero de Alencar Hegg, donated R$80 to the campaign of Pablo Marçal (PRTB), candidate for Mayor of São Paulo.

The reaction was immediate, with consumers promising to boycott the company's products, generating a new wave of “cancellation” on social media.
The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) released the information on September 25, and the topic quickly went viral.
Outraged by the political choice of Tirolez's owners, several internet users stated that they would no longer buy the brand's products. "Good to know, it will never come into my house again," wrote one user in a tone of protest, echoing the sentiment of some who see the donation as a reflection of the company's identity.

However, as has become common in Brazil's polarized scenario, the reactions were not unanimous. While many promised to avoid the quality cheeses of Tyrolean, others praised the brand and began to support it, with some declaring loyalty to the product precisely because of the political gesture of the owners. “From today on, I will only use this brand,” said an internet user who sympathizes with the supported candidate.
So far, the company has not made any official statement about the episode.
At the time of purchase, away from heated posts on social media, is it possible that those looking for a good cheese Will you sacrifice flavor for the sake of a political dispute?
Perhaps, in the end, the boycott will only last until the next breakfast.
