From today until Saturday, southern Italy is expected to be hit by icy currents coming from the North Pole, which in addition to significantly lowering temperatures across the country, will result in snowstorms in some regions.
It is expected that in the next few hours the first snowfall will occur in Marche (in the southern provinces, particularly Macerata and Ascoli Piceno), in Abruzzo and Molise, with accumulations of 10 centimeters in mountainous areas. In the middle of the night, snow is also expected to reach coastal areas, with the first centimeters of snow accumulation and possible discomfort for vehicle traffic.

It will then be between Thursday (3) and Friday (4) that the Arctic cold wave will enter its climax phase with strong snow storms brought by strong northerly winds over the middle and lower Adriatic, in the areas of interior of northern Campania, Calabria and Sicily.
