The surname Hu, of Chinese origin, is the most common among Milan residents, Italy's financial capital, according to a ranking released this Tuesday (11) by the civil registry service of the second most populous city the country.

According to the civil registry service, as for babies born in the first half of this year, parents continue to prefer traditional names in Italy.
Among the 4.856 Milanese who came into the world from January to June, the most common names are Leonardo (213), Tommaso (153) and Riccardo (123), for boys, and Sofia (108), Giulia (106) and Ginevra (90). ), for girls.
Leonardo (58) and Sofia (28) are also the preferred names for babies born to foreign parents in Milan, followed by Mohamed (34), among boys, and Maria (21), among girls.
