Since Thursday (5), stores across Italy hold the traditional “winter sale”” in 2023, in the first major commercial event of the year.
The expectation is that Italians will spend, on average, around 160 euros on products per person.
Despite the growing competition from online sales, “winter sale” continues to be an initiative “strongly linked to the in-store shopping experience”.
The information is contained in research carried out for Fismo, the Federation of Stores specializing in Fashion of the trade association Confesercenti, by the Ipsos Institute, with a sample of 800 consumers.
In total, 89% of consumers who will participate in sales will purchase one or more products at a physical point of sale, while 59% will purchase online. The stores are preferred above all by those over 35 years of age (90%).
The study also reveals a strong interest on the part of customers, considering that 72% declare themselves interested in purchasing at least one item in the clearance sale and only 23% will decide based on the offers. (With information from ANSA).
