Rome will have a direct train to Oktoberfest with a party on board

Italy will launch a special overnight train linking Rome to Munich during two autumn weekends to take tourists to Oktoberfest. The Munich Express, part of the FS Treni Turistici Italiani tourist train initiative, departs from Termini station on Friday evenings and returns on Monday mornings.

The service will offer three accommodation options: armchairs, sleeper cars, and sleeper cabins. The company promises an "easy, comfortable, and effortless" journey, with Bavarian-themed entertainment to get you in the festive spirit. "With us, the fun starts as soon as you board," the operator says.

The second weekend departs Rome on October 3rd at 20 p.m. and arrives in Munich the following day at 14:30 p.m. The return journey is on October 5th at 14:30 p.m., arriving in the Italian capital on October 6th at 6:30 a.m.
