The noise caused by a dozen left-wing protesters was not heard by representatives of the small town council Venetian Anguillara.
This Saturday (28), councilors rejected the request to revoke the honorary citizenship granted to the former president Jair Bolsonaro, two years ago.
There has recently been a wave of protests in Italy, led mainly by the Communist Refoundation Party, due to the invasion of the center of power in Brasilia.
Despite the unimpressive demonstration, Saturday was marked by insults and shoves from journalists present in front of city hall, who were waiting for news. Mayor Alessandra Buoso left without speaking to the press.

Bizarre: journalist compares Bolsonaro’s grandfather to “Jack the Ripper”
Unhappy with the lack of information about the vote to revoke the honorary citizenship of the former Brazilian president, journalist Ivan Grozny Compasso, from Padua Today, preferred to illustrate the motivation for the honorable demonstration using a comparison that was laughable to say the least.
He compared the former Brazilian president's ancestor to “Jack the Ripper”, the famous serial killer who operated on the outskirts of London in 1888, the same decade that his great-grandfather left for Brazil.
“What happened this Saturday morning, January 28th, in Anguillara Veneta, a municipality in lower Padua that decided to grant honorary citizenship to Jair Bolsonaro two years ago, is another chapter in a story that is embarrassing the city hall. A citizenship, that of Bolsonaro, granted because his ancestors left Anguillara. A bit like saying that if a great-great-grandfather of 'Jack the Ripper' was found to be from this municipality, honorary citizenship could also be granted to the serial killer. This is the principle, and it is the only thing that the counselors and advisors of the Anguillara Board know how to defend”, wrote the journalist on the newspaper's portal.
