Twelve of the biggest European teams decided to create an independent tournament, the Superliga.
They are: the Italians Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus, and Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Tottenham, Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, Chelsea and Barcelona. Another 5 will be invited.
For now, Roma, Bayern, and PSG have been left out.
The plan is to hold a tournament with 20 clubs, instead of the Champions League and the Uefa Cup. FIFA promises to retaliate, eliminating teams that join the Super League from all championships.
Furthermore, UEFA's lawyers have already revealed that they are ready for a 60 billion process euros.
With super league, the biggest European clubs can grab a much larger share of TV rights, recovering last year's losses (to the detriment of smaller teams). The promise is to share 3,5 billion euros among them.
The announcement of the creation of the Superliga was made this Sunday (19) and, of course, it caused a real earthquake in football.
