The pandemic hit Italian cafes and bars in a surprising way: almost 7.000 were forced to download doors across the country.

In 2019, Italy had 169.839 bars and cafes. At the end of 2021, there were 162.964 remaining – 6.875 fewer establishments.
A true tragedy commercial, therefore, which mainly concerned Latium. In the region, in fact, there were 1.860 bars that had to close their doors due to the crisis resulting from the pandemic, a reduction of 10,9%.
The data was already expected. According to Italian Federation of Public Establishments, consumption in bars and restaurants it had fallen by 56 billion euros in the two years.
