Spain's Volotea has been named Europe's best low-cost airline in 2025 by World Travel Awards, known as the “Oscars of tourism”.
The company surpassed traditional competitors in the sector, such as Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz Air, winning the “Europe's Leading Low-Cost Airline 2025” award.
The company connects major Italian cities to destinations in France, Spain, Greece and Croatia, as well as internal routes between the north and south of the peninsula. From Venice, Verona, Palermo, and Bari, flights depart to more than twenty European capitals and seaside resorts.
With a focus on affordable fares, Volotea offers direct flights between mid-sized cities, avoiding major hubs and reducing travel time. This strategy, combined with simple, well-reviewed services, has cemented its reputation among travelers seeking efficiency and competitive pricing.
While Ryanair, easyJet, and Wizz Air continue to dominate the market in terms of passenger volume, Volotea stands out for its unique flight experience and proximity to the Italian public, making it one of the preferred airlines for short trips within Europe.
