Despite the quarantine, anyone who does not send the email runs the risk of missing the call deadline
This Thursday (April 23) the deadline for the 17 thousand applicants placed on the waiting lists for the years 2008, 2009 and 2010, of the Consulate General of Italy in São Paulo, confirm their interest in the Italian citizenship process.
The call and limitation of the term were made by the agency in January this year.
According to the note, at the time, applicants must confirm their interest in the process, via email, by April 23rd.
Call suspended
For those who sent an email confirming their desire to proceed with the process, the Italian Consulate in São Paulo informed, through a publication on its website, that "the rescheduling will be done due to security measures."
The reason is the coronavirus outbreak. According to the consular unit, “all those who had already received a date (for the delivery of documents) will be rescheduled with priority, and responsibility on the part of this Consulate General, when the situation allows it”, says the note.
However, the consulate did not change the submission deadline for those who need to confirm their interest in the process. “We advise you not to send the email after April 23rd to avoid the risk of missing the call deadline”, says the new notice.
Validity of documents
The translated and apostilled certificates that should be presented to carry out the process at the consulate will not lose their validity, according to the consulate.
“Regarding documentation that may have already been issued, which would be delivered on the already scheduled date, we inform you that it will be accepted on the rescheduled date”, says the consulate.
