The Padua police used water jets this Monday (1st) to disperse a group of around 500 protesters who were there to protest against President Jair Bolsonaro's visit. As a reaction, some people are throwing objects at the agents.

According to information from Folha de S.Paulo, the confusion between political groups on the Italian left and the police began after the protesters tried to break through the security blockade to go to the Basilica of Saint Anthony.
The president traveled to the region after participating in a G20 meeting in Roma.
It is the second day in a row that police or security guards around Bolsonaro in Italy have used violence against people who are not there to demonstrate in favor of the president.

In the hometown of one of the most famous saints of the Catholic Church, Bolsonaro must only go to the church to pray and there are no scheduled events.
The stage in Padua takes place after Bolsonaro's visit to Anguillara Veneta, where the president received honorary citizenship because this is the place where the president's great-grandfather was born. The city also registered protests, but the presidential delegation diverted from the square and avoided the protest.
The presidential delegation returns to Brazil tomorrow, the government reports.
