Two tourists, one Dutch and one American, were involved in a comical (not to say bizarre) scene while visiting the Trevi Fountain — one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city of Rome. UA selfie turned into a police case when a dispute began over the best place to take a self-portrait.
According to reports, neither of the two tourists was willing to give up space to the other, which led to an argument that soon turned into physical aggression. Relatives of the two women were present at the place and started a small pitched battle that was caught by other tourists walking through the city.

Two Italian police officers who were walking around the area were called and had to restrain the fighters. In the end, the tourists involved in the confusion will have to face charges of violence.

Built in 1769 by sculptor Nicola Salvi, the Trevi Fountain is one of the best-known places in Rome due to the beauty of its architecture: developed at the behest of Pope Clement XII, the water fountain features different sculptures in the Baroque style.
In 2014, the Trevi Fountain underwent restoration work, preserving the marble that adorns the fountain's structure and adding more modern night lighting. In short, a perfect setting for taking selfies — which can end with a not-so-happy ending.
