A priest from diocese of Padua, in northern Italy, was arrested this Tuesday morning (26) accused of forging a baptismal certificate.

According to Italian police, in exchange for money, he created certificates to be used in Italian citizenship applications.

The priest was being monitored through telephone conversations with Brazilians, who were also arrested.

Operation “Super Santos” arrested 7 Brazilians and around 800 citizenship cases are under investigation.
