The list of the most powerful passports in the world in 2021 has been released. And Italy maintained 4th place, as in the previous year, guaranteeing access in 188 destinations countries.
The traditional Henley Passport Index, prepared by the British consultancy Henley & Partners, has been published since 2006 and aims to list the passports that most easily allow their holders entry into countries around the world.
The most powerful passport in the world is the Japanese one, whose holders can travel freely to no fewer than 193 international destinations even during this pandemic.
O Brazil It remains in 19th position in the ranking, alongside Argentina and Hong Kong, with a passport that grants access to 170 countries.
And for those who are wondering which country is at the forefront of the survey carried out by the authors of the Henley Passport Index, the answer is Afghanistan, whose passport is accepted in only 26 countries.
But Iraq (28 countries), Syria (29 countries), Pakistan (32 countries), Yemen (33 countries), Somalia (34 countries), Palestinian Territories (37 countries), Nepal (38 countries) and North Korea (39 countries ) also don't do very well when it comes to “passing immigration”.
The newly updated Henley Passport Index highlights how the power of the passport of United States and United Kingdom has been decreasing year by year and the extent to which the value of passports issued by Asia-Pacific countries has increased.
Over the past seven years, the United States has fallen from first to seventh place in the ranking of most valuable passports.
The power of the British passport has been decreasing every year and this is the third consecutive year that Japan has occupied the first position, whether tied with Singapore or alone.
