Of the 321 new infections, 237 were registered in Lombardy
For the second day in a row, eight of Italy's 20 regions have not recorded a single case of the disease.
No cases in: Friuli Venezia Giulia, Umbria, Molise, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily, Sardinia and the autonomous region of Valle d'Aosta. The regions of Trentino, Puglia and Marche registered just one case each.
In the last 24 hours, 321 new cases were reported — almost the same number as the previous day (318).
Of the 321 new infections, 237 were recorded in Lombardy. The region with the second highest number of new cases is Piedmont (just 19).
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 233.836.
Deaths
From yesterday to today, Italy recorded 71 deaths from Covid-19. The number is slightly higher than the 55 reported the previous day.
With this, the total number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country reached 33.601.
Italy reopens borders
