One of the masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance painter Giorgio Vasari was restored and exhibited to the public at the Corner Spinelli Palace, in Veneza, last Wednesday (28), after 40 years of investigations and repairs.
The panels that made up a painting on the museum's ceiling were removed from the end of the 18th century to be part of noble collections, while others were missing for hundreds of years.
The Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, in partnership with Venetian and private institutions, managed to locate all parts of the work in Italy and abroad, in a process that began in the 1980s.
“Today, the Vasari ceiling shines again in the place where it was painted, in Venice. It is an extraordinary work, as is the long work of recovery, restoration and composition [of the pieces],” said the Minister of Cultural Assets, Gennaro Sangiuliano.
The Supreme Court reaffirmed: citizenship is born with the person.

The eight panels that make up Vasari's ceiling will be part of the museum's permanent exhibition in the Veneto capital. The return of the art to Venice coincides with the celebrations of the 450th anniversary of the Tuscan painter's death, who is also to be honored with the reopening of the "Vasari corridor", with several works, in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
