The number of infections in 24 hours reached a new record in Europe: 123.684 new cases, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO).
An increase of 8,3% compared to the previous record of 114.227 cases, recorded last Friday.
According to OMS, the total number of infections in Europe is currently 6.809.678.
Cases increase in Italy
As infections also continue to rise in Italy: The most recent daily number is 5.719 new positives (currently 74.829 positives) and 29 deaths. In the last 24 hours, 133 tests were carried out.
New security decree
The Italian government is preparing to launch new measures and the new security decree could be signed this Monday, October 12th.
Among the rules under consideration are the closing of bars and restaurants at midnight, the halt of football championships, including amateurs and Seria A, and all contact sports. Gatherings in residences should also be prohibited.
54.639 new cases in 24 hours in the USA
The United States yesterday registered 54.639 new cases of coronavirus and 618 deaths caused by the disease: reports the Johns Hopkins University on your website.
The contagion data represents a drop of 4,8% compared to last Friday's level (57.420).
The new data brings the total number of infections in the country to 7.717.932 and the number of deaths to 214.370.
New record of contagion in the world
WHO registered a new record of Coronavirus cases worldwide. Yesterday, there were 383.359, on Friday there were 355.244. Confirmed deaths since the start of the pandemic are 1.064.838. (see the complete data here)
In India, more than 7 million infections
In India, coronavirus infections surpassed seven million, bringing the Asian country increasingly closer to the United States' primacy among the nations most affected by the pandemic.
The latest data from the Ministry of Health points to an increase of almost 75 thousand cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 7,05 million.
