The new consul general of Italy in São Paulo, Domenico Fornara, published an official message this Friday (25) and said he was honored to take on the role.
“It is an honor for me to represent Italy in the states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rondônia and Acre. In this large constituency, a very large Italian community is deeply rooted and, for more than a century, has contributed to the traditions of our country and to the promotion of bilateral relations in all the main sectors, with a strong spirit of initiative, creativity, capacity to innovate and solidarity,” he wrote.
Second Fornara, his commitment is “to continue following the path traced by my predecessors, continuing to value this important heritage of activities and relationships”.
"I would like the Consulate General, together with the other offices of the Italian System in São Paulo, to always represent another point of reference for all of you and a pivot for the continuous growth of bilateral exchanges between the Italian and Brazilian industrial, business, academic and social sectors," he further pointed out.
Fornara, 53 years old, replaces Filippo La Rosa, who spent around three and a half years in the role in São Paulo and worked for eight years and four months in Brazil. The new consul general He began his diplomatic career in 1998 and has worked in embassies around the world. (HANDLE).
