In Italy, child asks minister for help to have Santa Claus

Prime Minister receives letter from child and tries to reassure him: Yes, there will be Santa Claus in 2020

Will have Santa Claus in Italy in 2020, despite the pandemic. The Italian Prime Minister is the one who guarantees Giuseppe Conte.

Recently, the president of Italy received an emotional letter from Tommaso, a 5-year-old boy, resident of Cesano Maderno, in the region of Monza, north of the country.

Written, probably by one of his parents, he asks the minister for “special authorization” for the good old man to visit his home and that of his friends.

Read the boy's letter

Dear President Conte, my name is Tommaso. I live in Cesano Maderno (MB), I'm 5 years old and I attend the Sant'Anna Kindergarten.

In the family and at school we follow all the rules and your provisions; We always sanitize our little hands, we stay away from other people and adults wear masks.

This morning I asked Mom how many days until Christmas because I'm worried about Santa Claus.

I wanted to ask if you can do a special self-certification to allow him to deliver the gifts to all the children in the world.

I know Santa is elderly and it is dangerous to enter houses, but he is good and will definitely wear a mask to protect himself.

I promise that, in addition to the hot milk and cookies, I will also put sanitizer under the tree.

I wish you good work and hope you can make this exception just for him. I wait for his answer, at least I can tell my friends. Thank you, Tommaso.

The minister responds

To reassure little Tommaso, and with him all the children who asked themselves the same question, the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte published the letter received and the response on its Facebook page:

“A few days ago I received this letter from Tommaso, a 5-year-old boy from Cesano Maderno, who made me a very special request. Here is my response: Dear Tommaso, I read his message and I want to reassure you. Santa assured me that he already has an international self-certification: You can travel everywhere and distribute gifts to all the children in the world. Without any limitation”, replied the prime minister.

Nothing better than innocence of a child to heal the world. Isn't it true?
