Italy's Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè declared last Tuesday (12) that the first edition of the G7 summit of Tourism, which will begin today (13) in Florence, in the Tuscany region, will be “fundamental for the sector”.
“The first historic G7 of Tourism will mark a fundamental moment for the sector, bringing together leaders and representatives from different nations to face the challenges and opportunities that characterize the sector, at a global level, but also society as a whole,” said the politician in an interview with ANSA.
Santanchè added that the “meeting will highlight the importance of international cooperation to promote sustainable, inclusive and innovative tourism, capable of responding to the needs of a constantly evolving market”.
The Italian minister will meet from next Wednesday with the main leaders of the sector in the world, such as from the European Union, France, Germany, Japan, the United States and Brazil.
The work in Florence will be marked by several discussions on the topic, such as opportunities for socioeconomic development, human capital, inclusion, skills, digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.
“The discussions will focus on defining common and transversal strategies that can further stimulate economic recovery after the pandemic, while ensuring the protection and appreciation of cultural and natural heritage,” he concluded.
The first day of the ministerial meeting will be marked by visits to the villages of Monteriggioni and Abbadia Isola. The opening of the G7 will conclude with a performance by the musical trio Il Volo at Palazzo Gondi.HANDLE)
