Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni praised Argentine President Javier Milei this week. The right-wing leaders will meet on February 12 in Rome, as announced during an interview on the television program “Fourth Republic".
During the interview, Meloni described the Argentine politician as “a fascinating personality”, highlighting his extraordinary passion for his work. She recalled that she was one of the first European leaders to call to congratulate Milei after her election victory.
Milei's administration has the support of the so-called Madrid Forum, which includes politicians such as Jair Bolsonaro, from Brazil, and José María Kast, from Chile, in addition to Meloni.
The meeting between Milei and Meloni will take place at the headquarters of the Italian Executive, one day after the Argentine participates in the canonization at the Vatican of Mama Antula, which will be the first Santa Argentina.
The mutual praise between Milei and Meloni has been public, highlighting the deep historical and cultural ties between Argentina and Italy, as well as the common values shared by Rome and Buenos Aires.
Both administrations are committed to speeding up procedures, including in the courts, unblocking judicial bureaucracy as part of their political agendas.
