Three Italians are among the 100 most influential in the world
The highly regarded chef Massimo Bottura, owner of Osteria Francescana, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant based in Modena, Italy, which has been listed in the top 5 of the 50 best restaurants in the world since 2010, was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. It appears in the “pioneers” category.
Pierpaolo Piccioli, the Italian fashion designer responsible for creations at the Valentino brand, is among the “icons”, which also includes singers Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, and the former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.
Italy's vice-premier and interior minister, Matteo Salvini, is another Italian on the list. The leader of Lega, a right-wing party in Italy, entered the “leaders” category, alongside Jair Bolsonaro, president of Brazil (and the only Brazilian on the list), Donald Trump, president of the United States, Benjamin Netanyahu, first- minister of Israel, and Venezuelan Juan Guaidó, who proclaimed himself president of the country.
