Madonna celebrated her 66th birthday in Pompeii, where she not only visited the renowned UNESCO archaeological site but also made a significant donation to the local theater project "Sogno di Volare" (Dream of Flying).
The project, which supports children and adolescents at risk, is organized by the Pompeii museum and involves young people from the region in various cultural activities, such as performances, music and writing.
Madonna's visit took place on Friday night (16), when the artist, accompanied by her entourage, was received by the director of the archaeological site, Gabriel Zuchtriegel. He led Madonna and her group on a private tour of the historic site, offering an exclusive look at the preserved wonders of the ancient Roman city.
During the visit, Madonna had the opportunity to personally meet a group of teenagers from the project “Sogno di Volare”. Impressed by the initiative and the talent of the young people, the artist decided to financially support the project, guaranteeing its operation for the entire year 2024/2025.
According to the museum's official statement, the contribution will be essential for the continuity of activities, which have an annual budget of around 250.000 euros.
In its four years of existence, the project “Sogno di Volare” has already involved approximately 300 children and teenagers from the region, who stand out as actors, musicians and writers.
This year, the project premiered in the great theater of Pompeii and was later presented in other Italian cities, such as Bologna and Ravenna, with a performance in Vicenza planned for the fall.
