In an interview with “TG24 Mondo“, from SKY TV, this Friday (23), theformer president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvarevealed that all members of his family have Italian citizenship.
“Italy is part of my life. I was married for over 40 years to an Italian woman (Marisa Letícia Lula da Silva), all my children (Marcos Cláudio, Sandro Luís, Fábio Luís and Luís Cláudio) have Italian passport Italian, my wife was the daughter of Italians and I I have a lot of affection for Italy“, said Lula to Italian TV.
He recalled that “Brazil is the largest Italian country outside Italy”. “Italy has a strong bond with Brazil and Brazil must build an increasingly close relationship with Italy”.
And he said that relations with Italy will be “always excellent”. “Relations with Italy are a cultural necessity”, he added.
Lula also spoke about his arrest, the current situation of the pandemic in Brazil, and the protests in Cuba and the Amazon.
