Actress and model became known for roles in films by Antonioni, Buñuel and Fellini
Italian actress Lucia Bosè, known for her roles in films by Antonioni, Buñuel and Fellini, died this Monday (23) in Spain at the age of 89, her son Miguel Bosè announced.
“Dear friends… I inform you that my mother Lucia Bosè has just passed away. She is already in the best of places”, wrote the singer on his official Twitter account.
According to local media, she died in Segovia, about 100 km north of Madrid, from pneumonia. Actress and model Lucia Bosè was born in Milan in 1931 and was Miss Italy in 1947.
Film career
At the age of less than 20, he acted in “Scandal of Love”, by Michelangelo Antonioni, one of the great masters of Italian neorealism, with whom he worked again in “The Lady Without Camellias” (1953).
In 1955, she was cast in “The Death of a Cyclist”, directed by Juan Antonio Bardem, and “That's the Dawn”, by Luis Buñuel.
That same year, she married Spanish bullfighter Luis Miguel Dominguín, with whom she had three children: singer Miguel Bosé, businesswoman Lucia Bosè and actress and fashion designer Paola Dominguín.
During her marriage, the actress stopped her career, but resumed it in 1967, after her divorce. She has worked with Spanish and Italian directors such as Mauro Bolognini (“Metello”) and Federico Fellini (“Satyricon”).
