Jacareí, located in the interior of São Paulo, celebrates the 150 years of Italian immigration in Brazil with 1st Italian Festival, starting this Thursday (23).
The event, which lasts four days, promises a rich gastronomic and cultural experience.
The party is a family event and pet friendly, in addition to promoting solidarity by accepting donations for flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul.
Location and times
The Festa Italiana will be held on Avenida Getúlio Vargas, in front of the Havan de jacarei, from May 23rd to 26th. On Thursday and Friday, the event will take place from 17pm to 22pm, while on the weekend the gates will be open from 12pm to 22pm.
Italian gastronomy
Visitors will be able to taste a variety of traditional Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, stuffed polpetone, Fogazza, salami, cheeses , and more.
Desserts will also be highlighted, with options such as canole, gelato, tiramisu and panacota.
Musical programming
The party will feature a diverse musical program:
- Thursday (23): Italian Special with Waguinho Rodriguez
- Friday (24): Reverberations of Italy with Duo Melende'z at 19h
- Saturday (25): Thaynara Roverso from Italy to Brazil at 19pm
- Sunday (26): Piccola Tarantella Dance Group to 16pm and closing with The Capellas at 19 p.m., featuring traditional Italian music
Donations to Rio Grande do Sul
During the festival days, there will be a collection point for donations for flood victims in the Rio Grande do Sul. Contributions are not mandatory, but anyone who wishes to help can donate:
- Non-perishable food
- Personal hygiene items
- Clothing in general
- Covers
