Glelany Cavalcante, born in Feira de Santana, Bahia, is running for Miss Italy 2024 and can become the representative of the European country in miss Universe, if they win the national title.

At 30 years old, Glelany, who has lived in Italy for nine years, holds Italian citizenship and brings with her the expectation of being the first Brazilian to win the competition.
“I am happy and excited about what this competition can offer me, especially on a human and social level, and I am also aware of the responsibility it entails. This is a precious opportunity to tell the world about my life journey,” Glelany declared on social media.
In addition to the search for the crown, the model reveals her desire to promote her social project: “I can't wait to present the beautiful social project that I created and that I will soon share with you.”

Glelany began her career in the fashion world when she was still young, when she lived in Brasília. From there, she went to Goiânia and São Paulo, balancing work as a model and hospital receptionist while studying law. Her life changed course when she was hired to work as a model in Milan.

In Italy, he continued to invest in his studies, completing a course in Advertising Communication in Perugia, a city known for its international university.
Now residing in the region of Brands, Glelany is preparing for the Miss Italy final, which will be held on September 18, in San Ferdinando di Puglia. If she wins, she will compete in the Miss Universe pageant, a considerable challenge, since Italy has not won the world title since 1952.

This year, three Brazilians could be present on the Miss Universe stage. In addition to Glelany, if she wins Miss Italy, Barbara Suter from Rio de Janeiro, who is competing in Miss Switzerland, and Miss Brazil, who will be elected on September 19, could also be part of the global cast.
The grand finale of Miss Universe 2024 will take place on 16 November, in Mexico City.
