In addition to hot weather, Italian summer will have little rain according to 3BMeteo
The Italian summer – which officially starts on June 20 – is expected to have temperatures above the historical average, according to the climate agency's forecast 3BMeteo, and released this Tuesday (12).
It also expects a dry quarter. The warming is a consequence of the formation of the Azores anticyclone, supported by a promontory in North Africa, close to the Iberian Peninsula, which should impact rainfall patterns in much of Europe.
Consequently, above-average temperatures are expected to reach the entire south of the European continent.
The biggest temperature anomalies are expected between the Iberian and Balkan peninsula, which includes Croatia – a holiday destination for Italians.
Still according to 3BMeteo, and published in Corriere, northern Europe is expected to receive above-average rainfall next summer.

Temperature record
In 2017, Italy experienced an intense heat wave. A year in which the country recorded some of the hottest months in its history.
Sardinia, for example, broke its temperature record after a wind chill of 50º.
In Ferrara, in the Emilia-Romagna region, the thermal sensation also reached 50º, while the thermometers reached 40º.
