By 2040, couples with children will decrease in Italy, representing just 25,8% of the total, according to the 57th Censis report.
By that date, single-person households will increase to 9,7 million (37%).
Of these, those made up of elderly people will account for almost 60% (5,6 million).
It is estimated that in 2040, 10,3% of elderly people will still face problems with disabilities.
