Italy will have 75% of couples without children by 2040

By 2040, couples with children will decrease in Italy, representing just 25,8% of the total, according to the 57th Censis report.

By that date, single-person households will increase to 9,7 million (37%).   

Of these, those made up of elderly people will account for almost 60% (5,6 million).   

It is estimated that in 2040, 10,3% of elderly people will still face problems with disabilities.   

Currently, the elderly people represent 24,1% of the country's total population, and by 2050, there will be an increase of 4,6 million, reaching 34,5% of the total population. (Handle/Photo: Depositphotos).
