New decree: towards the closure of regional borders and new store opening hours
Cornered by daily records of new Covid-19 cases, the Italy is expected to announce a new decree next Monday (2). One new lockdown is already taken for granted, according to the main newspapers in Italy.
According to Corriere della Sera, from the beginning of the week, the Italian government must impose a ban on travel between regions of the country, and the closure of stores and some activities considered “non-essential”.

To avoid the risk of a total lockdown in the country, the government wants specific measures in areas with the highest incidence of new cases of the disease, including Lombardy, Campania, Liguria, Lazio and Valle d'Aosta, and the autonomous province of Bolzano.
Local lockdowns will be decided this Sunday, according to the La Repubblica, Roma.
Daily records
In the last 24 hours, Italy added 31.758 new infections from the new coronavirus and 297 deaths (yesterday there were 199). Numbers that show that the transmission curve in the country continues to increase relentlessly, reported today the Ministry of Health Italian.
“We are living in hours of reflection in Europe: Belgium, France and other countries have declared a blockade,” said Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.
“We have to analyze whether it is necessary to anticipate actions to prevent the curve from worsening. Meetings are held frequently to decide on the next decree, which will undoubtedly be more restrictive,” she added.
Di Maio assured that the government is studying ways to stop contagion without blocking productive activity and without ending face-to-face classes. But the Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, acknowledged that keeping schools open is one of the issues that his office is evaluating.
Some regions, such as Apulia and Campania, have already ordered schools to close.
