Scholar and ambassador of kindness, Alan Williams,
stated at an event in Palermo, Italy, that it is possible to measure the real
effects of kind acts, in addition to revealing the existence of an equation
mathematics that relates practice to the environment around it.
“We wanted to study how kindness moves through networks, creating waves of positive change,” said the expert during the opening of the 11th edition of the World Assembly of the Kindness Movement, which runs until next Sunday (20).
The event, which brings together experts from different countries around the world, aims to discuss the use of kindness as a social tool, in addition to evaluating the impact that these actions have on schools, public administrations and prisons.
“In its simplest form, the kindness equation explains how a combination of readiness, expression and impact combine into a kind act that can ripple outward to create potentially infinite kindness,” Williams said during the “Kindness Will Change the World” event.
The equation mentioned by the ambassador introduces new perspectives on how kindness works, especially the concept of “splash”, which is the mutual benefit between the person giving kindness and the environment around them.
“The assembly has the task of investigating kindness from a scientific point of view.
The commitment of us, the delegates, is to bring different points of view that lead our society, through our studies, to understand that actions are based on what we can define as an ethic of kindness”, said the Italian expert Natalia Re, host of the meeting. (HANDLE)
