The action is a success in Italy. Thousands of ice creams have already been donated
Hundreds of Italian ice cream shops are participating in the fifth edition of the “Gelato Sospeso” (“Shared Ice Cream”, in free translation) project, which aims to donate ice cream to needy children in the country.
The operation of the campaign, which runs until October 31st, is simple. Just buy a “gelato” and leave another payment, the invoice for which is deposited in a box at the NGO “Salvamamme”, which helps mothers and children in serious social conditions.

The initiative has been carried out annually since 2015, during the European spring and summer.
The idea is to revive an old Neapolitan tradition of “shared coffee,” which takes place between June 1 and October 31. The event is a success in Italy. In 2018 alone, the NGO has already managed to donate more than 100 ice creams across the country.
