Italian police have identified the Tourist filmed carving his name and that of his girlfriend with a key on a wall of the Colosseum in Rome, a case that generated outrage in the country and a hunt for the offender.
According to Arma dos Carabineiros, they are a couple residing in England, but their full names have not been released so far.
The man engraved the words “Ivan+Haley 23” on one of the walls of the Coliseum, a monument with almost 2 years of history, and now risks being sentenced to up to five years in prison and paying a fine of 15 euros (R$79,3 .XNUMX thousand).
“I hope that whoever carried out this gesture will be identified and fined in accordance with our laws,” Italian Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano said earlier this week.
