Italy and Portugal are among the 10 best countries for girls, according to a survey by the NGO Save the Children, which evaluates opportunities for girls in 144 countries.
In the study of the series “Every Last Girl“, released this Tuesday (12), information on child marriage, teenage pregnancy, maternal mortality, completion of secondary school and representation of women in politics was taken into account.
Brazil ranked 102nd overall, the worst position for a South American country, ahead of only Haiti and Guatemala in the entire American continent.

TOP 10 COUNTRIES FOR GIRLS
1st – SWEDEN
With the highest female participation in parliament, at 43,6%.
2nd – FINLAND
Around 98,2% of Finnish women aged 16 and under attend school.
3rd – NORWAY
Completing the Nordic podium is Norway, with 99,9% of teenagers in school. 4th –
4th – HOLLAND
With no records of marriages for girls under 18, the Netherlands is fourth in the ranking.
5th – BELGIUM
Fifth place, Belgium has no cases of child marriage and only 7 out of every 100 mothers die after giving birth.
6th – DENMARK
Denmark is in sixth place, with 37,4% of women in Parliament.
7th – SLOVENIA
The incidence of teenage pregnancy among Slovenians, seventh on the list, is 3,9 per thousand births.
8th – PORTUGAL
Ten out of every 100 births result in the death of the mother in Portugal, which ranked eighth.
9th – SWITZERLAND
In 9th position is Switzerland, with a parliament made up of 32% women.
10th – ITALY
10th place went to Italy, a country that has 100% of girls up to 16 years old in school.

135th – IVORY COAST
In 135th place comes Ivory Coast, with 9,2% female representation in politics.
136th – NIGERIA
About 42,8% of Nigerian women marry before the age of 18.
137th – GUINEA
In Guinea, for every 100 births, 679 result in the death of the mother.
138th – MALAWI
Only 20,1% of girls aged up to 16 in Malawi attend school.
139th – SIERRA LEONE
Sierra Leone, 139th, has the highest record of maternal mortality per 100 births: 1360
140th – SOMALIA
School attendance for girls up to the age of 16 in Somalia is just 1%.
141st – MALI
Only 8,8% of the national parliament is made up of women.
142nd – CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
882 deaths of women after childbirth are recorded for every 100 births in the Central African Republic.
143rd – CHAD
Approximately 68,1% of girls in Chad, ranked 143rd, are married before the age of 18.
144th – NIGER
Last on the list, Niger records 203,6 cases of teenage pregnancy for every thousand births.
