Italy is worth US$1,776 trillion and is in the TOP 10. Brazil is the only Latin American country in the top 30
A survey carried out by Brand Finance, an English consultancy focused on brands, shows that the Italy is ranked 9th in the ranking of the most valuable countries in the world.
The country is worth US$1,776 trillion. The value represents a drop of 15,8% compared to that recorded by the survey in 2019, when the country was worth US$2,183 trillion.
To define the brand value of a nation, Brand Finance applies the same method it uses to evaluate companies and takes into account indicators such as GDP, foreign direct investment, tourism spending, ease of doing business, country reputation and the ability to influence other nations using culture and diplomacy (the so-called “soft power").
The United States remains the most valuable national brand in the world, with US$23,7 trillion (14,5% less than 2019), followed by China, with US$18,8 trillion (down 4%) and Japan , with US$4,2 trillion.
Germany closes out the top 10, followed by the United Kingdom, France, India, Canada, Italy and South Korea.
Brazil is the only Latin American country in the top 30 of Brand Finance's list. The country ranked 16th in the ranking of the most valuable countries in the world, valued at US$764 billion.
