Italy created more than half a million jobs in the first quarter of 2023, compared to the same period last year.
The number was released this Tuesday (13) by the National Statistics Institute (Istat), who said that the number of people employed in the first quarter increased by 2,3%, which means 513 thousand units.
This is the eighth consecutive period of growth in jobs in Italy. The number of employees with permanent contracts increased by 3,7%, and the number of self-employed people, by 1%, while the total number of people with temporary contracts decreased by 2,7%.
The occupancy rate in the quarter grew 1,5 percentage points, reaching 60,9%, while the unemployment and inactivity rates fell 0,5 and 1,4 points, respectively, to 8% and 33,7%. (Ansa Brasil / Depositphotos)
