A local project by the Varese Chamber of Commerce in Lombardy has sparked strong interest in Brazil. The proposal offers a financial incentive to those who move to the province and sign an employment contract with a local company.
Italianism demonstrated this here: Italian province on Swiss border pays R$38 bonus to attract workers
How the incentive works
The project provides for an annual subsidy of 2 euros for three years, totaling up to 6 euros per beneficiary. The goal is to attract new residents to the Varesino area and meet the demand for labor in strategic sectors of the local economy.
The financial support serves as initial cost assistance, covering expenses related to moving and adapting.
Initially aimed at professionals up to 40 years old, the program has been updated. Now, people up to 45 years old can also apply, and more types of employment contracts have been included, as long as there is a continuous link with the region.
Professionals wanted
The priority is to give candidates profiles aligned with the needs of the productive sector. The vacancies cover areas such as:
- health
- engineering solutions
- technology
- logistics
- manufacturing
- Information Technology
Since its launch, the project has attracted people from other regions of Lombardy, from various parts of Italy and, more recently, from outside the country.
Order boom from Brazil
The international attention came after the project was publicized in the Brazilian press: Italianismo was the first portal to report on the project..
According to the newspaper Corriere della SeraAround 3 Brazilians sought information about the incentive, a number that surprised the organizers.
The territory was presented as a region with quality of life, stability, and real opportunities for professional integration, reinforcing the appeal of the proposal.
Project adaptation
Given the international demand, especially from Brazil, the Varese Chamber of Commerce decided to make the program more flexible. The goal is to make it more inclusive and compatible with the profile of interested parties living outside of Italy.
The positive response confirms the potential of well-communicated local policies to generate impact beyond national borders.
