Graziano Messana was re-elected president of ITALCAM for a third term. The decision was unanimous during the Ordinary General Assembly of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of São Paulo, held this Thursday (16).
The new term leading the organization will cover the three-year period from April 2026 to April 2029. Messana assumed leadership in 2020. and led the institution through a process of institutional strengthening during the pandemic.
ITALCAM operates under the umbrella of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (Mimit). This body is responsible for overseeing Italian chambers of commerce worldwide, ensuring alignment with official Italian policies.

Under Messana's management, the chamber recorded a 600% increase in revenue over five years. The amount rose from R$ 1,4 million in 2020 to R$ 8,4 million in 2025. The number of members increased by 60% during the same period.
“Assuming the presidency of ITALCAM in April 2020, at the height of the pandemic, was one of the greatest challenges of my career. In a scenario of profound uncertainty, we chose not to back down. We transformed the crisis into a turning point, strengthening our proximity to members, accelerating strategic connections, and concretely expanding the Chamber's institutional role, integrating ourselves in a structured way into the Italian System,” in a statement to [the publication/organization]. The board for the new term includes Cesar Alarcon (CEO of Pirelli) and Antonio Scala (CEO of Enel) as vice-presidents. Fabio Ongaro (CEO of Energy) remains as the organization's financial vice-president.
The institution also expanded its physical presence in Brazil. Branches were opened in Mato Grosso and Brasília. The unit in the federal capital is located within the Italian Embassy to strengthen institutional dialogue.
“Brasília is consolidating itself as a key point for our advocacy agenda, allowing the Chamber to act in institutional dialogue and contribute effectively to the advancement of economic relations between Brazil and Italy,” highlighted Messana.
Large Italian corporations such as PirelliTIM, Luxottica, Intesa SP, and Azimut hold seats on the Board of Directors. The body is composed of 20 members and brings together the main business leaders of the bilateral sector.
Messana emphasized that remaining in office is a recognition of the efforts of members and staff: “The unanimous re-election for a third term is, above all, a collective recognition and a great responsibility for me. I thank our members for their continued trust, the Board for their strategic support, and the entire Chamber team for their daily work, which makes the consistent execution of our vision possible.
