There is no one who can make Italy more proud than Italian sportspeople.
With this in mind, ITA, the new Italian airline that replaced Alitalia, plans to dedicate the first new Airbus A320 to the national idol Paolo Rossi.
One of the objectives of the company's business plan ITA Airways was the creation of an airline that would attract Italians, but also supporters of the Made in Italy spread around the world.
By adding the names of Italian sports stars to aircraft, ITA Airways hopes this will provide additional appeal to customers.
The rudder will have the 3 colors of the national flag: green, white and red, while the rest of the aircraft will be painted in Savoy blue.

Why was Paolo Rossi chosen first?
Born in Prato, Tuscany, in 1956, Paolo Rossi was the hero of 1982 FIFA World Cup.
One of the Azzurri's main idols, he will always be remembered for being the main driver of the Italian team's third championship.
Forever associated with the history of the Brazilian team for scoring the three goals that eliminated Brazil, former Italian striker Paolo Rossi died in December 2020.
When asked what he thought about ITA Airways naming its aircraft after famous Italian sportsmen, the president of Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), Giovanni Malagò, said:
“I am very happy with the initiative of ITA Airways that decided to pay homage to the history of Italian sport. It starts with Paolo Rossi, but President Altavilla has already anticipated that soon other great champions of the past in all sports will have the honor of seeing a plane from the ITA fleet with his name on it. On behalf of CONI and the Italian sports movement, I thank ITA Airways for its sensitivity. We are proudly grateful.”
