Classes are free and aimed at students and employees at federal universities.
The Ministry of Education, through the Language without Borders program, opened registrations for Italian, German and Japanese courses. The aim of the program is to encourage the learning of different languages to promote international exchange. The selection notices were published in the official diary of the Union (DOU) this Tuesday (13).
Up to 19 places will be offered per institution in German courses and up to 20 in Japanese and Italian. According to the program coordinator, Denise Abreu e Lima, the courses, in a pilot format, take place in partnerships between the MEC, the German Academic Exchange Service (Daad, in its German acronym), the Italian embassy and the Japan Foundation.
“We will carry out a survey of the demands for these languages at the universities involved, the receptivity of the academic community and we will evaluate the structure of the program in response to this pilot to plan the next actions”, explains Denise.
Italian and Japanese
In-person Italian classes will be offered at UFC, UFPR, UFSM, Federal University of Pará (UFPA), Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and Federal University of Viçosa (UFV).
