The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a free mobile game to present the country's cultural heritage in a very interactive way.
Called “ITALY. Land of Wonders”, it is available in 11 languages, including Portuguese, and can be used on both devices Android , the iOS.
The player is guided by Elio – a reference to Helios, the sun god of mythology – and, with the help of five guardians, discovers cultural heritage in five sectors: nature, gastronomy, art, performance and design.
During the phases, the user discovers various tourist attractions in Italy and their stories, totaling around 600 pieces of content. THE music also plays an important role, as they were inspired by Italian classics from opera to baroque – including film soundtracks.

“Today, the mobile games market is one of the main channels for disseminating all types of content, including cultural and informational topics. We are engaging a younger audience with 'Italy. Land of Wonders' and our goal is to involve people from all over the world and make them interested in our country and its beauties, creating a feeling of familiarity that, one day, can guide them to the real discovery of our territories and the our products”, highlights the Ministry’s general director of Culture, Innovation and Economic Promotion, Lorenzo Angeloni.
According to the official note from the Italian Embassy in Brazil, the game “is part of the general post-Covid programming strategy of the Italian MFA, which aims to support the Italian cultural and creative sectors”. (ANSA).
