Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived in Brazil late Saturday night (16), marking her presence at the highly anticipated G20 meeting in Rio de Janeiro.
After a brief technical stop in Cape Verde, Meloni was received in Rio de Janeiro with military honors and by the Italian ambassador to Brazil, Alessandro Cortese.
This is the first return of an Italian prime minister to Brazil since 2010.

Meloni's schedule at the G20 includes discussions that are central to the global future: combating poverty, energy transition and sustainable development.
