The city of Genoa, the main starting point for Italians who tried their luck in South America, will host the exhibition “Nonni from Brazil“, which brings together expatriate stories collected by Oliviero Pluviano, a former ANSA journalist based in Brazilian territory.
The exhibition will be held between September 10th and October 20th, at the Galata Museo del Mare, and will be open from Monday to Sunday, from 10am to 19pm (local time).
Created with the support of the Italian Consulate General in São Paulo, the exhibition has already toured several Brazilian cities and portrays, through photos and testimonies, the trajectories of Italians who emigrated to Brazil and to the state of São Paulo from the second half of the 19th century onwards.
Curated by Pluviano, the initiative will be taken to Genoa in collaboration with the MEI Foundation (National Museum of Italian Emigration) and the Institution of Sea and Migration Museums. (HANDLE)
