The family Galzerano arrived from Italy in 1948 and went to the interior of São Paulo. Today this name is a reference in the market baby strollers.
The Galzerano were one of the thousands of italian families who left Europe for South America in search of job opportunities, between the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20st century.
In that great wave of immigration, there was the family of Giovanni Galzerano, who was born on February 19, 1934 in the small town of Campora, in the province of Salerno, region of campania, the Italy.

Galzerano arrives in Brazil
Your family arrived in Brazil in 1948 and the youngest Giovanni, just 14 years old, had many dreams in his suitcase that he intended to fulfill in his new home. Always believing in better days, he was not afraid of the day as a means of achieving your goals.
Even though he was very young, he rolled up his sleeves and started working in several companies in the municipality of Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo, where his family settled in Brazil.
Giovanni Galzerano started on a farm apiculture making crates that were used to collect honey from bees. He then began working in the industries that were being born in the municipality.

Miscellaneous jobs
The young Italian passed through the Vitório Lucato, an Italian-Brazilian businessman who founded the Lucato, Indústria e Comércio de Máquinas Ltda. Afterwards, he worked in different roles in the businessman's workshop Newton Emelino Masutti, who was born in Cordeirópolis and went to Limeira, where he founded the Newton Electromechanical Company.
During this learning process, the young Italian also worked at Machina São Paulo, the most important industry in the history of Limeira. Founded in 1914 by engineer Trajano de Barros Camargo, Machina São Paulo produced machines for processing café and other machines for the coffee sector and had 2.000 workers, who received free medical care, life insurance and a house to live in.
Many of these specialized workers started to establish themselves on their own, in small factories in backyards and in sheds, which later became huge industrial establishments.

Galzerano sets up joinery
As I was still very young, Giovanni Galzerano came out of these experiences and ended up going through a period as street vendor. Later, with the help of a friend, he set up a woodwork with the aim of manufacturing doors and windows, but the business ended up not prospering.
In 1952, he finally managed to set up his own carpentry shop, with the help of bricklayers who worked on the side. Saturdays and Sundays. It was a cramped shed, which he named Santo Antônio Joinery, a saint to whom he maintained devotion.
In the beginning, Marcenaria Santo Antônio built nightstands, kitchen sets, bunk beds and many baby cribs. In 1956, Giovanni formed a partnership with a colleague to create doll strollers, but shortly afterwards the partners separated and he continued to carry on the business with furniture and doll carriages.

Galzerano industry is born
Taking advantage of his experience in the industry, Giovanni gradually replaced wooden products with metal creations and began producing ironing boards and ladders. From then on, it was a matter of time before doll carriages were replaced by baby strollers.
The products were well accepted and, with the growing demand for strollers, the company was born in 1960. Galzerano Industry of Strollers and Cradles Ltda. In the following years, the Italian immigrant followed this path, adding increasingly advanced technologies to the construction of baby strollers, which made the company grow, with respect for day and its employees.
In the second half of the 1980s, Giovanni Galzerano traveled to Italy to take a closer look at new trends in the baby products, which could serve as inspiration for your company’s projects.

Cutting edge technology
From this trip, the businessman brought concepts and investments in technology cutting edge. The company started to invest in new product lines and even in the same decade moved to a new address, with more space and large and modern facilities.
Galzerano's industrial complex in Limeira covers a total area of more than 122 thousand square meters, where more than 400 specialized employees.
Today the company has a line of products that includes strollers, child restraint devices, bathtubs, high feeding chairs, cribs, playpens, walkers and activity seats, as well as strollers and pet chairs.
All products are developed and manufactured meeting the safety requirements of the INMETRO, with Galzerano being the first company to obtain the stroller certification.

Believe in dreams
The company has partnerships with several social projects, such as Cirurgiões da Alegria, Instituto Ayrton Senna, Casa da Criança, Joy doctors, Hospital de Amor and Milk Bank of Santa Casa de Limeira.
Giovanni Galzerano died at the age of 79, on May 27, 2013, leaving his wife Nair Helena Lucatto Galzerano and children Luiz Antônio, Maria Clara, Maria Cristina and Maria Aparecida.
